Henry Knox McIntyre received his bachelor's degree in electrical engineering in 1899 from Columbia University. He joined the faculty of the North Carolina College of Agriculture and Mechanic Arts (later North Carolina State University) as an Assistant Professor of Physics and Electrical Engineering in 1910, and served in varying professorships through 1926. Hugh Williams Primrose was one of six sons born to William Stuart Primrose and Ella Williams Primrose. He was born January 21, 1878 and died January 27, 1904. He was a member of the graduating class of 1897. His father, William Stuart Primrose, was a member of the original Watauga Club which helped found the college.
